Your material, not someone else’s
Paste notes, upload a PDF or a past paper, photograph a page from an exercise book, record a voice note, drop in a YouTube link, or type cards yourself. Mindwell turns any of it into flashcards you can actually study.
Spaced repetition that respects your time
Every card is scheduled by an SM-2 algorithm: get one right and it comes back later, get it wrong and it comes back sooner. You revise what is about to slip, instead of re-reading what you already know.
Milo explains what you missed
When an answer is wrong, an AI tutor talks it through rather than just showing the right one. It also builds exams, drafts a weekly study plan from your real performance, and answers questions about your own notes.

Who built it
Novath Kiyagi
Full-stack developer and entrepreneur · Iringa, Tanzania
Novath is 16, self-taught since he was 11, and builds across web and mobile — e-commerce platforms, study tools, and client work such as Iringa Shopping Mall. Mindwell Academy is built and maintained by him alone: the study algorithm, the AI flows, the interface, the security rules and the tests were all designed and written from scratch rather than assembled from a template.
He is also in Form 4, which makes him the app's own target user. Mindwell exists because revising well is a solved problem in theory and a miserable one in practice: the techniques that work — active recall, spaced repetition, testing yourself before you feel ready — are the ones nobody keeps up, because doing them by hand is tedious. Mindwell does the tedious part.
How it's built
Next.js and React on the front, Firebase Authentication and Firestore behind it, Google Gemini through Genkit for the AI features, and Supabase for file storage. Cards sync to your device so a study session survives a dropped connection.
The parts that decide what you see next — the scheduling algorithm, answer grading, streaks, scoring — are covered by an automated test suite of over 450 cases, and the database rules have their own suite run against a local emulator. That is not a marketing number: a revision app that loses your progress or marks a right answer wrong is worse than no revision app.
Your work is yours
Your decks, notes and results are private to your account and readable only by you. Nothing is sold to anyone. The AI features only ever see the content you hand them, and you can export every deck or delete your account whenever you like. The privacy policy spells out exactly what is stored and who processes it.
